A Yearly Tune-Up for Your Medicare
Your plan can change from one year to the next even when your health stays the same. A doctor might leave the network, a prescription might jump to a higher tier, or a copay might creep up.
Every fall we go over the changes with you and see whether your current plan still fits or whether another plan we offer would do better.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.
Start With the Annual Notice of Change
By the end of September, each plan sends members an Annual Notice of Change listing every update to premiums, copays, networks and drug coverage that takes effect January 1. Lots of people never open it; we walk through it with you one page at a time.
Our Review Checklist
- Your doctors, hospital and pharmacy remain in the network
- Each medicine is still covered, and at which tier
- Next year's premium, deductible and out-of-pocket maximum
- The extra benefits you actually use, like dental or a fitness program
When something significant changes, we compare other plans using the same list of medicines and providers.
Dates to Remember
The fall enrollment period runs October 15 to December 7, and changes take effect January 1. People in Medicare Advantage get one more switch between January 1 and March 31.
For deeper drug comparisons see our Part D page, and for extras visit the dental, vision and hearing page.
Sometimes the Best Move Is No Move
Frequently your current plan remains the best choice. When it does, we say so clearly, and you are finished until next fall.

Is there a fee for the review?
No. The review costs nothing, and working with an agent never raises your premium.
Is early December too late?
No, as long as we finish by December 7 for a change that starts January 1.
What if I miss December 7?
Certain situations, such as a move or qualifying for Extra Help, may still allow a change. We look at your circumstances.
